The Zombie?s Guide to Urbanspoon

Inspired by a post by San Francisco Weekly (Six Places to Feast on BRAAAINS in S.F.), I realized we should provide a broader guide to eating brains for the zombies who use Urbanspoon. And I'm not talking about faux offal like the "Tell-Tale Heart Burger" at Poe's Tavern which is really just ground beef, or Zombie Brains at Kasa Japanese Bar and Grill, which is merely salmon. We have some real brains to devour.

Monkey Brain

Try Miso on Meramec for some Monkey Brains over rice in Clayton, Missouri. RAW Restaurant in Ruston, Louisiana serves their Monkey Brains with crab stuffed in mushroom caps. Try Lamb Brains with jamon, broad beans, and prawns at Ortiga in Brisbane's aptly-named Fortitude Valley. Like your brains with butter? Try Fried Veal Brains at The Publican in Chicago. On a budget? Try the Brain Masala Curry at Kabob-n-Curry in Oklahoma City. And get inside the head of some of our nation's political titans at Bar Pilar in DC which serves up Calf's Brain on a seasonal basis.

SweetbreadsAnd it's not all brains. . . want a side of heart to go with your brain? Try Grilled Lamb Heart at the Cask and Larder in Winter Park, Florida. Going high end? The Sweetbreads at Nine on Nine in Pittsburgh are accompanied with a nice pickled duck tongue. French zombies will feel right at home with the Duck Heart Tartare at Au Cinquième Pêché in Montreal. For a wide selection of body parts in one convenient location, try the tacos at Las Vegas' Tacos El Gordo, which can be served with beef head, tongue, or brain

What we are trying to say is. . . Happy Halloween!
