London is home to some of the world's best restaurants, markets, and food stalls. With over 33,000 UK restaurants on Urbanspoon, we've created our first city-specific list for London! Our Most Popular Restaurant lists are composed of those restaurants receiving the most coverage via diner reviews, blog posts, critic reviews, and votes over a 12-month period.
Each of the dozen restaurants on our list is celebrated and loved by their respective neighborhoods and fans. A few highlights: the restaurant that popped up (literally) two years ago, Roganic, highlights local farmers and producers with their 3, 6, and 10-course dinner menus (also available vegetarian!). Roganic is the little sister restaurant to the elegant L'Enclume five hours' north of London in the village of Cartmel.
London's entertainment center, Soho, had two restaurants on our list: Quo Vadis (aka QV) and Barrafina, the place for "couture tapas". Urbanspoon user DLVdotcom says of QV, "Since Jeremy Lee rocked up the Pots and Pans QV has become a real banker in the London restaurant canon of quality. Simple, well executed, satisfying food abounds."
Until our next list, if you're looking for inspiration to plan your perfect day in London, check out Sir Terrence Conran and Peter Prescott's book Eat London 2.
