Top four spots to shop Phoenix in style

women shopping in the mall

women shopping in the mallAs a travel buff, meeting dwellers of other states or countries is always interesting to me. It always shocks me when my response of ?Phoenix? to their inevitable ?where are you from?? is received with a look of recognition. What?s more fascinating is what follows that look. Aside from, ?At least it?s a dry heat? or ?my grandparents live there!? I quite frequently hear ?woo, you have the best shopping out there?. Having heard this so many times I actually thought about it and as it turns out I think we really do have some pretty fantastic shopping out here. There are four absolute top spots to shop and be seen around the valley that I contend rival Rodeo Boulevard in Beverly Hills or 5th Avenue in New York, any day.
  1. Scottsdale Fashion Square ? Oh you knew this one was coming. Aside from the Mall of America in Minnesota, Fashion has to be the most widely known indoor mall in the country with 1,939,632 square feet of magnificent shopping. Scottsdale Fashion is equipped with just over 250 shops, a handful of tasty restaurants, and has almost everything you could possibly need in one elegant location. My favorite aspect of this shopping center is that its massive size really works in its favor. You can ogle handbags at Louis Vuitton, skip 100 yards from that bag you just shouldn?t buy and pick up a top inexpensive enough to throw out after one wear at Forever21. You can have it all at Fashion Square!
  2. Biltmore Fashion Park? The Biltmore was the Fashion Square before Fashion Square, but rather than surrendering under their shadow the Biltmore stepped up its classic elegance. The Biltmore focuses more on really high-end shops you won?t find anywhere else in the valley such as Ralph Lauren and Saks. They don?t just specialize in high-end shopping though; they will wine and dine you in style too. Think old money and Bentleys in the valet.
  3. Scottsdale Quarter & Kierland Commons ? These two, essentially one in the same are neighbors on opposing sides of Scottsdale road. These two titans have shifted what is considered ?Scottsdale? way north. Both have that outdoor mall set up and have a good handful of really high-end shops you can?t find at either Fashion Square or Biltmore. There are definitely far more trendy restaurants than the other shopping centers and the Scottsdale Quarter has an iPic Theater, which just may be the most posh movie theater on the planet.
Though these three or four shopping centers are clearly shopping centers, they serve to be more than that here in the Valley. Shoppers have been known to dress for the occasion in heels and full makeup, making the act of shopping a ?scene? all its own.
