What To Eat at Antique Taco, Open Now

Antique Taco, 1360 N. Milwaukee.

When we were a mere lad, restaurants decorated with lots of old junk, we mean antiques, tended to be hippie sandwich shops with names like Dr. Hasenpfeffer's Original Old-Tyme Tastetorium. But given that salsa has passed ketchup as America's favorite vegetable, it's only natural that there should now be taco places like that, too. Surrounded by cool stuff, Antique Taco puts a new, farmers-markety spin on what you can slap on a tortilla or two with choices like "Grilled Ribeye with House Steak Rub, Heirloom Salsa, Cilantro, Onion, Queso Enchilado" and "Crispy Fish Tempura, Smoked Cabbage, Scallions, Sriracha Tartar Sauce." And we don't even know what "Masa Biscuit & Lobster Gravy, Maine Lobster, Guajillos, Mushrooms, Arugula, Cilantro Oil" means, but we think we'd better find out. They're open now for lunch and dinner; the menu is below.
